  • Global Communication – Maiden Voyage (Ripperton Edit) [Philomena] (2013)

True to their ethos Philomena return with their first one for 2013 featuring Innervisions powerhouse Ame and Switzerland’s Ripperton.Ame get down with Paul Simon’s “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes” and re-imagine it as an anthemic peak time house banger.

On the flip Ripperton takes Gobal Communications’ “Maiden Voyage” into an equally epic peak time E2E4-esque kraut-infused house cut.

  • Optic Eye – Light Side Of The Sun [Jumpin’ & Pumpin’] [re:discovery records] (1994)

On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce this tribute to the music of Jake Stephenson. Sadly, Jake passed away in 2005. A prolific producer with hundreds of credits under many names and many styles. An eccentric hippie of sorts, music historian and audio savant certainly, Jake was truly a unique, talented and special person.

While a 5 track EP hardly scratches the surface, we at re:discovery wanted to honor an artist who impacted the label owner and the history of chill out music more than maybe some know.

  • Air – Air [Fax +49-69/450464] (1993)

Pete Namlook was one of the most influential figures of electronic and ambient music in the 1990s. Inspired by Oskar Sala, one of the pioneers of electronic music, Namlook focused on the untapped potential of analogue synthesizers, often developed or extended in his laboratory.

Freshly educated in composition from Goethe University, Pete Namlook (Peter Kuhlmann) started his career in Frankfurt playing in the electronic ensemble Romantic Warrior that was loosely part of the new age and electronic scene. They cut Romantic Warrior (Frog, 1985), Himalaya (Frog, 1986), Planet (Blue Flame, 1988).

In 1991 he began a second life as a disc jockey playing techno music under the moniker Sequential.

  • Amorphous Androgynous – Tales Of Ephidrina [Quigley Records] (1993)

One of the Future Sound Of London’s most well-known aliases. The later psychedelic releases generally add a ‘The’ to the name to differentiate from the ’90s electronic material.
