Esencia 054 – Tristan
Hi Tristan – tell us a bit about yourself.
I live in Nottingham, UK and have been collecting records and DJing since I was 13. I’ve played quite a few underground parties over the years and also friends nights in London. I had quite a long period out but recently started DJing again this year.
I started an Instagram record blog 2 years ago. I own over 10,000 records and post 4 or 5 times a week, I try to find a balance with new and old records. It’s important to support new music whether it’s released physically or digitally.
How did you go about the mix?
It’s mainly new music from the likes of Massimiliano Pagliara, Jex Opolis, Eversines, Kid Who, Asphalt DJ & Gzardin that I picked up the past month or so. It’s quite deep, trippy and then picks up pace towards the end. I recorded it at home using my 1210’s and CDJ’s
What do you have in store for the rest of 2022 and the start of 2023?
I’m playing a new London based party in December which I’m really looking forward to.
Into 2023 and I want to finally start my own event series here in Nottingham. I own a club sound system which is fully mobile and I’m looking at bringing over European guests DJs as well as having a couple of local residents.
Also, with the help of two other friends we are starting a new mix platform and label.
