Deep Space Recordings & Within Records

For a long time I wanted to make a special publication of the Deep Space Organisms universe but I had not given me the time to do it. One of my favorite duos in the history of electronic music is made up of Andy Pitman & Simon Huxtable.

Mostly their music was released in the 00s. Although Simon continues to release music under his project Aural Imbalance which specializes in mostly atmospheric drum and bass and Inhmost in ambient and downtempo vibes.

Progressive/atmospheric house, progressive breaks/trance/ambient call it what you want but it’s a unique sound! a sound that you can recognize and makes you think it’s Deep Space Organisms! I swear I can listen to their music all day long (as if I haven’t already). So I’ll share with you my favorite records from the DPO universe or Aural Imbalance, as well as his side projects like Inspired Mindz with Stephen Gould.

It’s a bit extensive and complicated at the same time because of the great number of sublabes like Within Records + EXP, Cadence Recordings, Found Recordings, Cintamani and more! But that’s the least of it! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I heard it for the first time, I fell in love with their sound and I still do <3

Deep Space Organisms – Particle Porthole / Dubinisms [Found Recordings] (2005)

Found Recordings was launched as a sub-label of the movement in sound collective in 2005 releasing deep atmospheric progressive house.

The first two releases feature established underground acts Deep Space Organisms and Aural Imbalance, who have provided Found Recordings with uplifting original material that will be the focus of this new label, the aim is to provide atmosphere with energy yet still retain depth.
